Best Products for Short (Thick) Hair

I've got short (shaved sides, long on top), thick, heavy hair and have been testing loads of products for about 3 years. Now I have finally figured out which products work best and last! Naturally, my hair is wavy/curly (depends on how I dry it).

1. Bumble and bumble - Hairdresser's Invisible Oil
This is a heat protectant, softening serum that's perfect for when you have ashy, white or silver hair and can't use Moroccan oil because of the brassiness. It makes your hair super soft and prevents little frizzies.

2. Redken - Powder Grip 03
This has changed my hair life. It's a powder that adds loads of volume and makes heavy, thick hair stay up! You can also use it go give your hair more life and absorb oil if you can't wash it. Powder a good amount into your hair while its at the end of being dry and make your hair messy, backcombed staying up or just more "volumized" (is that a word? I don't know.)

3. Joico - Power Spray
Best hairspray ever! I have a mini bottle and it's all I need! Really keeps your hair in place and the most you put on, the harder your hair gets, but you can't really even tell and you can still brush through it gently. Smells like bubblegum too, so that's a bonus!

4. PROLISS - Hair dryer
Really great.

5. Herbal Essences - Set Me Up Gel
Really great to always have gel just in case, and thankfully, I have this from my aunt and uncle when they came over! When my hair is dry, I massage a small dab of it in my hands, spread it through where I need it and blow dry it.

  1. This is perfect! Thank you! I've been looking for a good recommendation from someone with hair like mine as I'm about to get a pixie cut and need to know which products will do what I want them to. My only question is if I have dark brown hair, would it make more sense for me to get Moroccan Oil or is the invisible oil just better overall?

  2. Hi! I would go for the Moroccan Oil because is really moisturizes, leaves amazing smoothness and shine when your hair is dry, is 10x cheaper and also is a natural heat protectant. I'm so happy that this has helped you!
